TIS THE EVE BEFORE BLACK FRIDAY - WHERE DID IT COME FROM? 

Black Friday in recent years in the UK has become a large event in the shopping calendar. However, it originates like many things from across 'The Pond'.  Black Friday is the informal name for the day following Thanksgiving Day in the United States.   It is when the Christmas Shopping Season would start after the National Holiday and many stores would offer highly promoted sales. 

In the 2010s it spread to the UK when Amazon and Asda began to hold Black Friday sale events and then other UK retailers started to follow suit.  In 2014 the police had to be called in to shops across Britain to deal with crowd control, threatening customers, traffic issues and assaults.  

More and more stores are starting to offer discounts and pre-Black Friday sales trhoughout November and many purchases are now made in this month.  

Here at Little PJS we will have some items on sale for Black Friday - we have found that with the increase in online shopping during the Covid pandemic that people have been buying well in advance of Black Friday.

It is a busy time of year here at Little PJS HQ as we attend a number of large Christmas Fairs in the North of England.  This is a great way for people to do their Christmas Shopping as they can come along and be under one roof and find lots of different items for Christmas gifts and come and visit Little PJS.

For a number of years we have had a stand at the Living North Magazine's Christmas Fairs in Newcastle and York

We take our full range of girls and boys pyjamas and it is lovely to meet up with customers new and old at these events.  It also helps us with market research as to what sort of pyjamas people are looking for and what they like.

Our girls nightdresses are always very popular at these events and at this time of year our Maddy Fairy Nightie is one of our top sellers.

We also have some smaller gift items like Rag Dolls, Bunting and new this year, Childs Farm Shampoo and Bubble bath gift sets

It is a hectic time here at Little PJs as we make sure we are all set for the busy Christmas season.  We have some wonderful new pyjama designs for the winter season.  For the boys we love the Star Wars themed cosy brushed cotton pyjamas and for the girls the Blue floral design both are from British designers Mini Vanilla.  We also have some great Christmas PJs

For those who prefer nighdresses we also have new designs as well as the return of an old favourite, the Jenny nightie which has a  rose floral design.  The Maddy fairy nightdress is always one of our top sellers and this year we have got in extra stock of them to make sure no-one is disappointed.
